When NASA’s Perseverance rover lifted off from Cape Canaveral on July 30, it carried a four pound helicopter strapped to its belly, called Ingenuity. When the rover lands on Mars in February 2021, Ingenuity will be released from the rover’s belly, sprout four legs and sit on the Martian surface.
