In 1971, the Apollo 15 astronauts placed this plaque and statuette on the Moon.

The plaque bears the names of the fourteen astronauts and cosmonauts who had then perished in the line of duty.

But some say this tally is inaccurate, claiming Soviet officials concealed the deaths of many additional cosmonauts who died in space.

And their theories are wild:
