Thank you Brenda! My father was a Marine who served in Vietnam in 1967. That war has hung like a black cloud over his life and, by extension, my life since about the time I was born. It laid the foundation for the divisiveness the country experiences today.
I’ve read pretty extensively on the war and have learned that there was no obvious moment to stop the march into oblivion. Escalation always seemed the easier path.
But, eventually, better times arrived for the country after that war and my hope is that will happen again after our recent divisive foreign adventures.
