My dad was with Patton in Sicily. When we watched the movie "Patton" in 1970, I watched my father. He never spoke about the war, but at the end of the movie said quietly, "He was a real bastard ".

At the Hooverville Bonus Army camp in the 30s where soldiers protested the withholding of their bonus pensions, Patton attacked and shot at his own soldiers who had served under him in WW1. His ego was way too big.
